HAMSTRING & QUADRICEPS STRENGTH TEST

A speed strength imbalance between two opposing muscle groups such as the quadriceps (agonists) and the hamstrings (antagonists) may be a limiting factor in the development of speed.  Find your 1 RM for both the leg extension and the leg curl test.  Divide leg extensions score, in pounds, into leg curl score then multiply it by 100 to find your ratio in percent.  A score of less that 75 % is low and indicates the need to focus of strengthening the hamstrings.
