WATER

The body most efficiently absorbs water at temperatures of 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.  Drink at least eight 10-ounce servings of water per day.  During exercise, drink water every 15 to 20 minutes.  Plain water provides the most effective results.  Carbohydrate sports drinks have the effect of increasing insulin and as discussed previously, excessive insulin formation is the worst hormonal enemy of any endurance or strength performance athlete.
