Steve Burnett of Rock Island High School in Illinois is poised to win the state championship this year. In his 2nd meet this year he cleared 14'9 and made several good attempts at 15. Last year an ankle injury forced him to no height at the state meet forfeiting his number 1 ranking. I look to see only good things from this up and comer.
