An inexpensive solution that we use which is very effective and light weight is from a 2 liter soda bottle. Cut out the middle section from the bottle, center it about 8 inches from the bottm of the pole, wrap tightly and put one layer of athletic tape. It's a clean looking solution that's light weight and will not cost much since you will probably be buying the drinks anyway.
