I've jumped on just about every kind of pole made today except the European Nordic poles, and I didn't think I'd every like anything but UCS Spirit poles. But I've been jumping on the new Essx poles, and I don't think I'm ever going back to Spirit. First of all they come in pvc tubes instead of the cardboard tubes, so you know your pole has not been damaged in shipment. But the real difference is the way they jump. You will have to try it for yourself, but with a good take off and plant, they bend very high and really helped me clean up finer points in my jump. The first day I jumped on them I was jumping on a spirit pole and then went to an Essx, and cleared an 8 inch P.R. from a 10 step. If that isn't worth something, I don't know what is. Try them out. Bruce Caldwel is very helpful with pole selection if your not shure what you need.
