Lighten up. The kid can make any derogatory marks about an official that he wants to on an internet bulletin board. He shouldn't make them during the meet or to the official directly, because then he would be looking for trouble. But if the guy looks like a weasel, he looks like a weasel.

As for the pole, Bruce Caldwell can probably tell us if it's a trainer or not. I believe he made Fibersports/Maximas back in the day. Is it filled with foam? Is it small in diameter, but heavier than other poles bigger than it? If so, then it's probably a trainer.
