Sorry, I was misunderstood in my first statement. The guy I referred to as the weasel was not a reff. He was approximately 20 years old and was just at the meet. He convinced the officials, who I would not have made derogatory remarks about, to not allow me to use the pole. He had a similar looking pole but when I examined it, it was different. It did not have a ring six inches down or an official weight scribed in the top, unlike my pole. The next morning I checked out the Flexsport Maxima HS on the internet and the document stated the pole is a low modulus, and heavier than regular poles. My pole fit the description, which also stated that such poles are not TRAINING POLES. My Athletic director at my highschool called Bruce Caldwell (his company) and they said the pole is perfectly legal.
